Do you want to change a body color in Fusion 360? Or, perhaps you want to change the look of your design with a unique texture? We’ve got you covered with this quick and easy tutorial.
Start by opening the appearance dialog in Fusion 360 using one of the following methods:
- Click the Modify drop-down and select Appearance
- Find a body in the browser, right-click, and select Appearance
- Use the hotkey, A, to bring up the Appearance Dialog
Once the Appearance Dialog is open, select the appearance you’d like to use and then drag and drop it into the body you want to modify. Not only can you select the material and paint colors you’d like to use, but there are also some unique appearances to choose from, such as water.
If you don’t want to permanently change the appearance of your parts, but would like to differentiate the colors of the components in your 3D design, we have a tool for that too! Head over to the Tools tab and select the Component Color Cycling toggle. This will update the colors without making any changes to the part or component.
